Students
Do I need an account to browse?
No. The directory is public. Adults create an account only to send an introduction.
What happens after I send a message?
The mentor receives your message, email address, and a private profile link. If they reply, it comes to your normal inbox.
Can I see whether a mentor read it?
No. There is no thread, read receipt, match, or reply mechanism on Health Mentors.
Does the quiz match me?
No—it suggests a starting direction and a few mentors to consider. It never decides for you or limits who you can contact. If you're signed in, your results are saved to your account so you can return to them (see our Privacy notice).
Mentors
Do I need a calendar or inbox integration?
No. Introductions arrive by email and you decide whether to reply.
What verification is required?
A manual LinkedIn review for everyone and a public NPI review for physicians or others who provide one.
Is this a background check?
No. Health Mentors does not perform background checks in this MVP.
Can I pause introductions?
Yes. Turn off Open to new mentees at any time.
Privacy
Does Health Mentors monitor relationships?
No. The platform stores the initial introduction for 90 days, but replies and ongoing communication happen off-platform and are not monitored.
Who can see a mentee profile?
The mentee, staff, and a mentor who received an introduction from that mentee.
Can minors create accounts?
No. The current MVP is limited to adults age 18 and older in the United States.
