Before contact
People are verified—not merely listed.
A mentor profile stays private until identity and the appropriate license or enrollment review are complete. Anyone who may mentor a minor must also clear the required background process.
Safety & trust
Young people should never have to trade privacy or safety for access to guidance. Health Mentors limits who can connect, where the conversation happens, and what happens when something feels wrong.
The non-negotiables
Verified before visible
Matched before messaging
Guardian gate for minors
Report and exit controls
Built into the flow
Before contact

During mentorship
There are no open DMs. Messages stay on Health Mentors, are logged and reportable, and may be reviewed by authorized safeguarding staff. Email alerts never contain message text.
For young people
The service is 13+. A student under 18 cannot request a match or send a mentorship message until their email and guardian consent are verified—and minor matching remains closed until the operational safeguarding gates are complete.
Clear boundaries
Convenience features can create risk. These stay off until they are separately designed, reviewed, and tested.
No exchange of email, phone numbers, social handles, or external links
No medical diagnosis, prescriptions, treatment advice, or emergency care
No romantic or sexual conduct, secrecy requests, private meetups, or unsanctioned video calls
No file uploads, calendar integrations, open forums, or group messaging during the protected beta
When something feels wrong
Every human mentorship thread includes a report control. Participants can end a relationship at any time. For a concern outside a thread, use the contact form. Health Mentors is not an emergency service; call 911 in immediate danger.
